Teaching : A perennial Attempt to Explore New Horizons
The true aim of education is second birth. We are born into the world of nature and necessity and we must be reborn into the world of spirit and freedom.for this we require vital dynamism, intellectual efficiency and spiritual direction.Acharya is one whose achaar (conduct) is exemplary. Our scriptures say “andhakaranirodhata gurur ityabhidhiyate.” He who is able to remove the andhakar is called a guru.Andhakar is not merely intellectual ignorance but spiritual blindness. Though learning to teach is a life long journey, every attempt to explore new horizons makes the journey a pleasure. In the current scenario, the role of language teacher has become more complex. Training teachers, especially English language teachers, to think clearly, feel nobly and act rightly will help to develop a civilized society. It is said that Literature records the past; reflects the present and moulds the future. In the current scenario, the emphasis is on developing communication skills in the name of learning a language or English for Special Purposes or English for Academic Purposes or English for Survival, the need for the study of literature, and teaching language through literature has its own relevance.
