There is change in the role of teacher and teaching pedagogy as per the change in teaching environment. Norwegian psychologist Ivor Bjorgen has presented four pivotal roles of teacher as the sculptor, the entertainer, the coach and the manager which play important role in shaping the personality of students. Teacher is at the centre of this alteration in managing to facilitate every student to enjoy learning and realize his full potential. To explain the role of teacher in the present paradigm I would like to deal with the three basic aspects in the process of education i.e. - learning, teaching in ICT environment which is quite different from the traditional classroom setting. Keeping this in mind he has to develop appropriate competencies o be able to create learning environment and support students continuously in achieving their educational goals in the era of globalization.
