The art of developing speaking skills which is the foundation for efficient teaching of the language can be made fruitful through constant exposure and practice. The goal of teaching the skills of speaking English is to motivate the learners to express themselves intelligibly, reasonably, accurately and fluently. This aim can ultimately be achieved by providing a lot of opportunities to the learners to speak the language and by introducing an umpteen number of activities to them to speak the language. The paper explores certain activities that can be used in the classrooms to improve the speaking skill of the learners.
